The location was perfect- a short ride to the trails by sxs and close to everything - but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. "Stayed at Real McCoy Cabins for a riding trip and it was exactly what you want out of a Hatfield-McCoy trip. Cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Easy in and out with the machines, plenty of room to park and unload.
Don and the staff went above and beyond. Genuinely nice people who know the area and were happy to point us toward the best trails and answer every question we had. That kind of hospitality is what makes you book a place again instead of trying somewhere new.

"I took the kids and friends there for the 4th of July. The cabins looked and smelt brand new. Very clean and the bathroom and and shower in the cabins and the separate bath houses were exceptionally clean. Will definitely recommend them to everyone.

"Perfect location for riding the Pocahontas trail system. The Store is well stocked with anything you need and they are located only a two minute ride to the local dollar store if there is anything out of stock. Lots of room around the cabins to easily maneuver large trailers. Plenty of room to park our vehicle, trailer and UTV without getting into anyone's way. Amenities outside of the cabins were nice, comfortable and well maintained (Picnic tables are in good shape, Fire ring was clean and large enough for a good camp fire, no litter laying around, etc.)."
"This was our first stay at Real Mccoy cabins and we had such a great time! Our cabin was very clean, cozy and comfortable.
Don, Ginger and family provide amazing friendly hospitality and the home-made food was absolutely delicious. (We recommend the pizza and crockpot chicken and dumplings.)
We also enjoyed homemade breakfast biscuits that we took out on the trails with us.
You are easily able to access the Spearhead and Hatfield Mccoy trails from this location. Our visit was quiet, relaxing and packed with full of fun adventures around these beautiful small towns of Pocahontas and Bramwell.
We will be returning very soon for another visit.

"I would give 10 stars for the service , the family is just super friendly and will help you all they can. Rooms are nice and cozy, location was fine for us. Very peaceful and quiet!!!
The food is homemade and very good, we happen to be there during remnants of hurricane Helene hit and power went out( no fault of owners). They prepared all of us breakfast and supper on their personal grill and had supper ready when we came back off the trails. I could go on but bottom line we are staying again without hesitation"

"This was our second stay at The Real McCoy Cabins and it was just as great as the first time. Ginger and Don go out of their way to make sure everything is just to your liking. Before we left for our first day on the trails, we had a delicious and hardy breakfast at the store. Then, when we arrived back, Ginger brought in the amazing chicken and dumplings in a crockpot. Wow! So good for dinner and enough to have the next night. On our second morning we went a little bit lighter for breakfast, but still delicious, and had a bacon and egg sandwich. Not only was the food great, but the cabins are SO nice. Slept very well each night and in the morning had a cup of coffee from the keurig. TV was great and so was WIFI. Access to the H&M Pocahontas trail was just over a 2 mile ride into Bramwell, WV, which was super convenient. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!!"

"I can’t say enough good things about our accommodations at the Real McCoy Cabins this week. They made phenomenal home cooked meals. They opened the restaurant early and closed late to accommodate our time on the trails. They even offered crockpot meals set up in your room so when you got in from the trails, dinner would be sitting there waiting on you in your cabin.
The cabins are quaint and cozy and outfitted with enough accessories to be comfortable. I even had good wifi!
Two generations of family running it and and the third is being groomed to take over one day. Their customer service is second to none.
Their granddaughter (Skyler) and I enjoyed games of freeze tag in the gift shop while waiting on my meals to be home cooked to order.
It’s incredibly rare to experience this type of place anymore. It warms my heart.
They made a great weekend of ATV riding on the Hatfield & McCoy trails even better!"

"We couldn't have asked for more. The cabins were well appointed, clean and comfortable...especially the bed! Location is convenient to town, and the owners, Ginger and Don (and family) are great people who made us feel welcome and like family. "Just finished up a long weekend and our 1st trip to Hatfield McCoy visiting from Long Island NY. We stayed at The Real McCoy cabins in Pocahontas Virginia. We rode Indian Ridge and Pocahontas. My group of 6 guys rented 2 cabins and I would give these folks a 5 out of 5 stars.
The cabins were clean and beautiful. They have a store on premisis. The owners live on premisis and are some of the finest folks you can come across.
The food was OUTSTANDING this woman can cook! We had lunches made for us and they were jam packed. Sub sandwich,chips,fruit,homemade cookies and pasta salad. The second night we had ordered crockpot meals. They leave a crockpot of food cooking in your cabin while you are out riding. We returned at the end of the day and entered into into a cabin that smelled of pure heaven. Pot roast with potatos, carrots all was delicious. Nothing like coming home to this after a long day of riding.
Anybody thinking of staying in the area dont even hesitate one second I promise you will not regret staying here its top notch."

First, the quality of the cabins are second to none. I've stayed at multiple cabins around this region and these are really unmatched. The quality of the craftsmanship is so impressive and they have such a homey feel to them. They are each just a little unique, and were incredibly comfortable to stay in. But the number 1 thing that will keep me coming back was the hospitality from the owners and staff. We were treated like part of the family and not just guests.
